Tim Gunn has recently criticized the Kardashian clan, calling them “distasteful” and “vulgar.”
In a recent interview the Project Runway mentor called the Kardashian family “vulgar,” saying that he does not understand why the family is in the fashion business.
“When it comes to fashion I say to people all the time, if you want guidance for your fashion just consider this, if a Kardashian is wearing it — don’t,” Gunn said.
“I think it’s vulgar and I just think given the amount of public exposure that the Kardashians have, to potentially be sending a message to people that ‘you too can dress like this’ — no,” he added.

He also talked about Kim Kardashian’s husband Kanye West. “I think they’re a bunch of dumb clothes,” he said about the rapper’s fashion line. He added that he thinks that the pricey clothes being sold by West are “basic.”

The interview also revealed the fashion guru’s feelings toward the recently-concluded Project Runway season 14. He said that he hated it, and felt that some of the designers were not working up to their potential. “The whole thing was lackluster,” he added.
Gunn then talked about judges Heidi Klum, Nina Garcia, and Zac Posen. “One says it’s black, the other says it’s white, and they don’t really listen and they don’t really look,” Gunn comments. “It makes me so cross and pissed off, frankly.”
