Kanye thinks fashion discriminates against him because he’s ‘not gay’

Kanye West said that he thinks he’s being discriminated against in fashion because he’s heterosexual.

“I feel like I got discriminated in fashion for not being gay,” West said in an interview with SHOWstudio.

West said that heterosexuals have a harder time succeeding in fashion compared to homosexuals. This, he said, is different from how things go in music, when gays are usually the ones discriminated against.

“You definitely get discriminated in music if you are gay. It takes amazing talents to break down barriers. Everyone thought that when Frank Ocean dropped that it was going to be bad for his career. I feel like it’s so cliché to speak about him as it relates to this subject, but there are people who broke the ground and he broke the ground. The people that break the stereotypes make history,” he explained.

West recently released his Yeezy Season 2 Clothing line, which is a collaboration with Adidas. It’s been doing quite well, with the Yeezy Boots selling out it 12 minutes.

Not everyone will have access to the collection however, because of the prices (a military tank costs $185, and a jacket costs $940). West, however, said that he’s working toward making his clothes more affordable in the future.

Meanwhile, West also made a statement about Caitlyn Jenner, saying that he is proud of her and the rest of the Jenner/Kardashian clan.

“Fk what people say, fk what people think,” he said. “I feel proud to be in a family that has so many people breaking ground for the generations to come … I feel proud that … I could be next to a wave of thought of ‘this is who I am’. And that is all I’m about. To let your life be controlled by public opinion would be like asking to sit in traffic for the rest of your life.”
